Never Judge a Book By Its Cover

Sitting on my Kindle is an ARC release that I’m supposed to have done by tomorrow.  Three actually but lets not get too technical here.  Many books go through an evolution of covers prior to their release.  In these days of internet design, some authors do a cover themselves while working on the story and then most publishers design several different versions for hardcover, paperback, audio and digital.  Some times its because the cover isn’t getting good reception from buyers, other times its to add award logos or such and sometimes, there’s no real explanation ever known to the public.

This book, The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh, had no less than 21 different covers to be found online.  At that point I sort of gave up and my amusement ended.  But it was interesting to see the changes in cover design as time wore on.
